Tones 21-22

Emily’s insane belting and beatboxing skills are just some of the reasons why she is our President! She keeps all systems running smoothly and brings tons of energy to every session and social. Emily always puts her heart and soul into A Cappella, and always with the biggest smile. Her network within A Cappella is unrivalled, and her work ethic is ridiculous. When she’s not boots’and’catsing, she’s one of our altos; this is her 4th year with Tones so you could say she knows all things A Cappella. When she’s not doing wild things with her voice, you can probably find her on her guitar or the nearest bar!

Becca is one of our mezzos who is studying music, and her mind works absolute wonders: aside from her gorgeous voice, her insane arrangements and musical direction are just some of the things that make her an incredible MD! She has been in Tones since 2019, and had previously dabbled in acappella beforehand. Becca can also be found on the stage of musical theatre, notably playing Diana Morales “A Chorus Line” with GKTMT a few years back. Get ready for some magic from Becca!

Ledi is one of our lady basses whose powerhouse vocals and immaculate vibes never fail to spark energy! She won the best soloist award at the OAC 2020 with Tones, and is now in her 4th year with us. Ledi is doing her masters in Music: Ethnomusicology, and is into a range of genres such as jazz, gospel, soul, bossa nova and R’n’B. Ledi’s insane design and editing skills make her incredible with PR, as you will see in the recent album art and edits for LUKAS! Her confidence shines bright, and she always knows how to make an impact wherever she goes (especially with her laugh!)

Anna is in her last year of uni studying English Language and Linguistics. You can tell she’s the coolest gal, and it’s not just her style! Her silky alto voice makes our sound sparkle, and her choreo is always a blast to do. Anna has been a part of Tones since 2019, and you know that every time is a good time with her. We can always count on her to set up the best socials, and we get to make the best memories thanks to her. Two things she can’t live without are her headphones and tequila!

Casey is a mezzo and a 1st year music student at KCL. This is her first year in Tones and a cappella! She’s a multi-instrumentalist who can be seen playing solo or in many groups around London, including orchestras, jazz groups, and now her music skills are being invested in Tones! Her passion and drive has resulted in her being Vice President of Tones this year, and she’s loved learning from the very best in the group! Although she’s the youngest in the group, it doesn’t stop her from jumping straight into anything!

From Northern Ireland, Ella is an undergrad history student at KCL. She has a lot of background in creative arts and performance, previously playing lead roles in musicals, performing solos for charity events (such as Cancer Research fundraising) and multiple choirs. She also has her own business in art, selling her own paintings and frequently creating marketing content for companies across Northern Ireland! In her spare time, she talks to anyone who will listen to her go on about her two cats. Ella’s creativity and amazing style are just some of the reasons that she’s part of the social media team this year!

Ellie is a marketing masters student at LSE. She was previously in Northern Lights in Durham University for her final year, where she fell in love with A cappella. She loves musical theatre, song writing, and also plays the violin, guitar and piano. Growing up in 4 countries and being half Japanese/British, she loves composing music using influences from various cultures. She definitely has a soft spot for Ole & Steen, so you can probably find her there. Her love for dancing and her skills have made her one of the talented Tones’ choreographers!

One of our sopranos, Erin’s bright voice and personality bring fun and lots of laughter to Tones. Before joining us, she was in an a cappella group (Illuminations) during her undergrad at Exeter Uni, acting as vice-producer and choreographer. Erin is currently doing a Masters in Digital Marketing, and is also a talented song-writer and guitarist! She has a great eye for detail and is a treasure trove of talent, making her an incredible choreographer for Tones!

Mila is a first year global health and social medicine student at Kings. One of our talented basses and a Tones newbie, Mila has previously been in and arranged for a cappella groups throughout her time in secondary school, notably being in “Pitch Purple”. She’s a multitalented person in all areas of the creative arts! Her smooth, velvety voice and beautiful runs never fail to impress, and she’s the sweetest person you’ll meet!

Clarissa is a 1st year undergrad doing Psychology at Kings. She’s a singer/guitarist and a busker, and was crowned UK’s busking champion by the Mayor of London back in 2016! She has done international gigs, such as performing for the F1 at Abu Dhabi in 2018. Her optimism spreads throughout the group, and being an avid foodie, she also brings the best snacks to rehearsals. Catch Clarissa busking around London, and don’t be afraid to say hi!

Mia is one of our basses, and before Tones she was in “The Decibelles” from Cardiff Uni for 4 years. Her wealth of aca-experience has helped push Tones further, and her ridiculous range and beatboxing skills continue to drop jaws! She studies PGCert psychological therapies and works for the NHS. Her confidence and humour always energise the room, and she always knows how to have a good time!

Ksenia is a first year music student at KCL from East Sussex, and this is her first year in Tones and A Cappella. She is a soprano, and is also new to a cappella. Ksenia took a gap year to focus on her song writing and released her debut single on July 2020 (Stream “Love Me Better” on Spotify!). She has a sparkling high range and incredible runs - Her sass, voice and dancing are just some of the reasons why she’s the life of a party!

Blake is a soprano who is getting her Masters in Digital Marketing at KCL. Other than doing musical theatre since she was very young, she was previously in an a cappella group in the States at her undergraduate uni where, coincidentally, 2 prior Tones members studied abroad and did a cappella! Her stage presence is second-to-none, and she never fails to make the group smile with her dynamic personality!
